[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Genesis BBQ announced on the 21st that it will release three new products on the 22nd, targeting the peak chicken season in fall and winter, attracting attention with a ‘retro’ sensibility and striking visuals.
The main products are ‘Father’s Chicken,’ which reinterprets the taste of old-fashioned whole chicken with the theme of ‘family warmth,’ allowing customers to enjoy two flavors and two chickens; ‘Snow: Mat-eun Dak,’ which captures both taste and visuals by piling pure white garlic flakes like snow on chicken made with a special soy sauce; and ‘Kkameok(mul) Chicken,’ which targets the preferences of the MZ generation with squid ink batter on thick thigh meat.
First, Father’s Chicken (two chickens) is newly upgraded to revive the memories of the old whole chicken that fathers used to bring home after work during childhood. It stimulates the appetite with a sharp and pungent garlic aroma and balances with a wasabi flavor that tingles the nose, boasting a crispy outside and tender inside with rich juice. It pairs perfectly with BBQ’s craft beer and evokes nostalgic memories of families sitting around and eating together. The price is 27,000 won.
Snow: Mat-eun Dak features wings and drumsticks made with BBQ’s special soy sauce, topped generously with garlic flakes, creating an impressive visual reminiscent of a snow-covered mountain. This sweet and salty soy sauce chicken, beloved by Koreans, combined with savory garlic flakes, is available for 24,000 won.
Kkameok(mul) Chicken uses the most loved part, thick thigh meat (eongchi-sal), coated with a healthy squid ink batter and fried crispy in golden olive oil, characterized by a rich umami flavor. It adds the refreshing taste of Jeju tangerine chips and prickly pear sauce, infusing Jeju’s sensibility into the chicken. The price is 23,000 won.
