The Nation's Largest Future Car Exhibition... Ioniq 5, Nexo, EV6 and More Take the Stage
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced on the 21st that they will participate in the "Daegu International Future Mobility Expo 2021" held at Daegu EXCO, showcasing future mobility technologies and eco-friendly vehicle lineups.
Now in its 5th year, the Daegu International Future Mobility Expo is the largest future car exhibition in Korea, covering automobiles and related parts. This year, 161 domestic and international companies are participating, and Hyundai and Kia have prepared exhibition spaces of 360㎡ and 270㎡ respectively to welcome visitors.
Hyundai Motor will organize its exhibition space with a 1:3 scale model of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) demonstrating future mobility technology, and representative eco-friendly vehicle models such as the Ioniq 5 and Nexo. The Ioniq 5 is the first model to apply Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, E-GMP, and the long-range rear-wheel-drive model will be showcased at this exhibition.
Hyundai will also present a model of the E-pit, an ultra-fast electric vehicle charging system. The E-pit can charge up to 80% within 18 minutes and features a "Plug and Charge" function that automatically authenticates and processes payment immediately upon connecting the charging cable, enhancing convenience by allowing charging to start right away.
Additionally, Hyundai will showcase the Nexo equipped with next-generation hydrogen fuel cell systems and advanced convenience technologies, and operate a "Nexo Kids Car Zone" where children can experience hydrogen electric vehicles.
Kia has designed its exhibition space to provide customers with a differentiated experience through its first dedicated electric vehicle, the EV6. The Moment Layer Zone features a large lighting arch structure conveying information about the EV6’s design process and convenient charging, and both the EV6 Long Range 4WD model and the high-performance GT Line with enhanced design are on display.
Other zones include the V2L (Vehicle To Load) Experience Zone, which demonstrates the amount of power available through the V2L technology that supplies general power (220V) outside the vehicle, and the ESG Zone exhibiting eco-friendly seats and fabrics applied to the EV6.
Meanwhile, Hyundai and Kia will also conduct test drive programs at the expo. Visitors can test drive the Ioniq 5, Nexo, and EV6, with applications available at Hyundai’s on-site booth and the expo’s official website, and on-site registration for Kia.
A Hyundai and Kia official stated, "As the future mobility industry is rapidly growing, we will continue to create many opportunities to inform more customers about our future mobility technologies and vision."
