Gyeonggi Dullegil 860Km to be 'Fully Opened' on the 15th of Next Month

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] On the 15th of next month, the entire 860km walking travel route called the 'Gyeonggi Dulle-gil,' which connects 15 cities and counties on the outskirts of Gyeonggi Province, will be fully opened. Gyeonggi Province will hold various pre-opening promotional events from the 21st of this month in anticipation of the opening of the Gyeonggi Dulle-gil.

On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced that the Gyeonggi Dulle-gil, connecting 15 cities and counties within the province, will open on the 15th of next month. The Gyeonggi Dulle-gil is broadly divided into four major zones: Gimpo~Yeoncheon, Yeoncheon~Yangpyeong, Yeoju~Anseong, and Pyeongtaek~Bucheon. Each zone features existing walking travel routes frequented by residents, such as Pyeongtaek Seopgil, Daebu Haesol-gil, and Park Doo-jin Literary Trail, as well as various tourist attractions including Silleuksa Temple, Gungpyeong Port, Dongju Salt Farm, Siheung Lotus Theme Park, and Yangpyeong Saneum Recreation Forest. The creation of the Gyeonggi Dulle-gil was promoted as a campaign pledge by Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung.

A provincial official explained, "The walking paths, which were individually developed by each city and county and disconnected between regions, have been connected to form a route where residents can walk together while sharing ecology, culture, and history between adjacent areas. The entire route will open on November 15."

Ahead of the opening, from the 21st to the 28th of this month, a naming contest for the Dulle-gil characters will be held. The Dulle-gil characters are shaped by connecting the Dulle-gil courses with lines, symbolizing the four zones of the Dulle-gil, and four characters have been created. Anyone can participate by commenting on the contest post on the Dulle-gil Instagram account (@i_am_dule). Participants should suggest a representative name that reflects the personality and characteristics of the Dulle-gil characters.

The 'Stamp Design Coloring' campaign, where participants color the Dulle-gil stamps, will also be held from the 22nd of this month to the 19th of next month.

On the Dulle-gil, travelers can collect stamps representing 120 nearby tourist attractions either via mobile or offline to certify their visit. Those wishing to participate in the campaign can select one design, color it in their own style, and post it on their Instagram account with the hashtag '#GyeonggiDulleGil.'

From the 29th of this month to the 12th of next month, a 'Quiz Event' will also be conducted. Participants can leave answers to quizzes related to the Dulle-gil posted on the Dulle-gil Instagram in the comments.

Prizes such as hotel accommodation vouchers, Gyeonggi Province specialty products, and smartwatches will be awarded through judging or a lottery for each event. Detailed information can be found on the Gyeonggi Tourism Portal Gyeonggi Dulle-gil page or the Gyeonggi Dulle-gil Instagram.

Additionally, the province will release videos capturing the beautiful scenery along the Gyeonggi Dulle-gil on the full opening day (November 15) through TV programs and popular YouTuber channels.
