[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 20th that it has signed a business agreement with the Jeonbuk Bicycle Federation (President Yoo Jeong-hwan) and will actively promote bicycle revitalization and regional development through hosting bicycle competitions.
Through the agreement, Muju-gun and the Jeonbuk Bicycle Federation decided to attract excellent bicycle competitions such as the Muju Gran Fondo, promote training camps for the activation of Deogyusan Leisure · Bike-tel, and cooperate on club competitions.
Deogyusan Leisure · Bike-tel, located in Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun, is a specialized facility for tourism and sports marketing activation, with a total floor area of 1,132㎡ across one basement floor and two above-ground floors, equipped with guest rooms, a guest lounge, a multipurpose hall, a fitness center, and two jokgu courts.
It also has a mountain bike (MTB) maintenance room, free storage, and equipment such as helmets and protective gear, making it a popular spot for club members.
Hwang In-hong, the county governor, said, “Now that we are working with the federation, I hope that the bicycle-related competitions and events held in Muju will be more substantial, and above all, that club members will gather in Muju for training and socializing. Our journey together will lead green growth and establish Muju as a bicycle-friendly region.”
Meanwhile, Muju-gun has been enhancing its status as a strong leisure sports region through bicycles by hosting various bicycle competitions such as the Gran Fondo and the Masters Cycle Tour Championship, and there are 26 bicycle routes including Hyangrosan Road and Namdaecheon Embankment Road.
