[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korean Air announced on the 20th that it held a ‘Love Rice’ donation event for neighbors in the Gangseo area at the Gangseo District Office.
At the event, the company donated 300 bags of 10kg rice to the Gangseo District Office to support neighbors in the Gangseo area who are facing difficulties due to a decrease in sponsorship caused by COVID-19. The donated rice will be delivered to 300 vulnerable households selected by Gangseo District, including elderly living alone, child-headed households, and people with disabilities.
Korean Air’s ‘Love Rice’ sponsorship event is a representative social contribution activity that has continued for 18 years since it began in 2004. The total amount of rice sponsored since 2004 has reached 89 tons as of this year.
At Korean Air, more than 4,000 employees belonging to 25 in-house volunteer groups practice neighborly love and carry out various volunteer activities. Last year, Korean Corporate Governance Service awarded Korean Air an integrated A grade in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) evaluation conducted annually for listed companies.
Korean Air stated, "We plan to actively practice ESG management by strengthening corporate social responsibility management through various volunteer activities needed by the local community."
