RE100 stands for Renewable Energy 100, which means replacing 100% of the electricity used with renewable energy.

The RE100 Citizens' Club is a citizen action practice group that promotes regional energy transition along with efforts to switch the energy they use to renewable energy to achieve carbon neutrality.

Since May, the Gyeongnam RE100 Citizens' Club preparatory meeting has been formed by the Gyeongnam Sunlight Power Cooperative, Gyeongsangnam-do Sustainable Development Council, Gyeongnam Regional Problem Solving Platform, Gyeongnam Regional Energy Transition Network, Gyeongnam Energy Citizens' Action, Gyeongnam Social Solidarity Economic Social Cooperative, and Changwon University LINK+, discussing activities to support residents' carbon neutrality activities, and held the launch ceremony and citizens' forum on the 19th.

The launch ceremony began with an opening address by Shim Sang-wan, chairman of the Gyeongnam Sunlight Power Cooperative, followed by congratulatory speeches from Jeong Bo-ju, co-representative of the Gyeongnam Regional Problem Solving Platform, and Ok Se-jin, head of the Social Innovation Promotion Team.

The main projects will support various citizen activities for carbon neutrality, such as the RE100 campaign, citizen education, establishing bases for citizen participation in renewable energy production, and supporting citizen activities.

The launch ceremony was held on-site with 49 participants and online via YouTube live streaming in accordance with quarantine guidelines.
