Probation Sentenced to Security Company CEO Who Carried Out Request to "Bring the Children"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] The president of a security company who carried out a request to bring children from a wife after a marital quarrel was sentenced to probation.

The Changwon District Court Criminal Division 1 (Chief Judge Choi Bok-gyu) dismissed the appeal of A (43), who was tried on charges of abducting minors, and announced on the 19th that he was sentenced to 8 months in prison with 2 years of probation, the same as the original trial.

A is accused of drafting a service contract and carrying out the request from client B and B's mother in August 2019, who asked for help to bring back their 1-year-old and 3-year-old children whom the wife had taken to her parental home after a marital quarrel.

He mobilized security company employees to physically block B's wife, who resisted not to let the children be taken, and personally drove the vehicle carrying the children.

A appealed, claiming that he only went to the scene with employees to protect B's safety and did not intend to assist in forcibly taking the children, but the court did not accept this.

The court stated, "The defendant was aware in advance of the plan by B and his family to forcibly take the children, and considering that he drove the vehicle carrying the children to B's house, it can be recognized that he conspired with B and his family to forcibly take the children," and ruled, "The original court's judgment recognizing the charges as guilty is justified."
