Rabies Vaccination for Dogs and Cats Over 3 Months Old Until the 29th...Free Vaccine Supply, Vaccination Fee Available at 5,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will conduct autumn rabies vaccinations at 30 designated animal hospitals in the area until the 29th to prevent rabies.
Rabies vaccinations usually cost 15,000 KRW, but during the autumn vaccination period, Gwangjin-gu and Seoul City subsidize the cost of the vaccine, so pet owners only need to pay a 5,000 KRW service fee.
The vaccinations are for cats and dogs over 3 months old. For dogs, animal registration must be completed to receive priority vaccination. If the dog is not registered, owners must register the animal first before getting vaccinated.
Unregistered dog owners can register their pets with an implantable animal registration chip for 10,000 KRW. The implantable registration involves inserting a microchip, which helps quickly locate lost pets. To register, visit a participating animal hospital with your ID and your dog after confirming availability.
Rabies vaccinations are available at 30 designated animal hospitals in the area, and the list of hospitals can be found on the district office website.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Rabies is an infectious disease transmitted between humans and animals, so vaccination is very important,” and added, “We ask for active participation in rabies vaccination for the health of precious pets and the safety of residents.”
