LH New Recruitment, Second Relocation of Public Institutions, and Proposal for Establishing the Space Aviation Agency in Jinju

Mayor Jo Gyu-il of Jinju City is holding a solo protest to attract public institutions.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Mayor Jo Gyu-il of Jinju City has embarked on an extensive campaign to resolve various local issues, including those involving the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

On the 15th, at a dinner meeting with Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, who attended the Bu-Ma Uprising commemorative ceremony, Mayor Jo proposed issues such as the hiring of local talent under LH's innovation plan, attracting the relocation of public institutions, and establishing the Aerospace Administration in Jinju.

That day, Mayor Jo urged Prime Minister Kim, saying, "The most urgent matter is to protect the hopes of young people preparing to join LH. Please allow the currently suspended new recruitment by LH to proceed."

Regarding the second phase of relocating public institutions from the Seoul metropolitan area, he emphasized, "To complete the innovation city, a second phase of additional public institution relocations must occur to create synergy after the first phase relocation," and requested, "Please ensure the second phase relocation of public institutions is promptly promoted."

Additionally, he requested, "Since there is virtually no dedicated department for domestic space development, please establish a national aerospace agency, the Aerospace Administration, and attract it to Jinju."

Following his meeting with the Prime Minister that day, Mayor Jo plans to meet consecutively with Ando-geol, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, this week, and Yoon Seong-won, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, next week to propose policies related to attracting public institutions.
