Ministry of Science and ICT Holds 'Intelligent IoT Promotion Week'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 19th that it will hold the '2021 AIoT Week Korea (AIoT Promotion Week)' from the 20th to the 22nd to activate and enhance the competitiveness of the Internet of Things (IoT).


Intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) is a technology that combines the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Recently, against the backdrop of exponential connectivity of objects and the advancement of AI, it is evolving from simple situation awareness and control, and future prediction, to an autonomous stage capable of 'autonomous judgment and autonomous control.'


This year's AIoT Promotion Week, under the theme 'Intelligent Internet of Things, Connecting Life and the Future,' will host eight diverse events including an international exhibition, conference, and IoT showcase both online and offline.


Cho Kyung-sik, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "Recently, intelligent Internet of Things, which combines IoT and AI, is playing an increasingly important role as a network infrastructure rooted in various fields such as homes, communities, energy, logistics, distribution, and manufacturing," adding, "Through this Promotion Week, we expect it to be an opportunity for industry, academia, and research to explore development directions together, enhance IoT productivity, and ultimately become a cornerstone for enriching life in the future."
