Enhancing Intergenerational Understanding and Building Bonds Through Communication and Empathy
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced that it will conduct a survey targeting all employees from October 18 to 22 to strengthen internal integrity.
As the generational differences in growth environments and ways of thinking within the public service society widen, differences are also appearing in work approaches and attitudes.
At the Gokseong-gun Integrity Improvement Measures Report Meeting held last March, it was also suggested that communication among employees is important to improve internal integrity.
Accordingly, Gokseong-gun decided to conduct a survey to recognize generational differences among employees and help them get closer to each other.
The survey will be conducted by dividing employees into senior public officials (born in the 1960s-1970s) and junior public officials (born in the 1980s-1990s).
The survey questions were created using the questionnaire from the public service communication booklet “The 90s-born Public Official Has Arrived”, produced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Government Innovation Avengers.
Representative questions include keywords that I pursue in my work life, prominent characteristics of the 90s-born generation, and the image of a supervisor I want to work with and follow.
A Gokseong-gun official said, “We hope this will be an opportunity to enhance understanding between generations through communication and empathy, build bonds, and establish a flexible organizational culture.”
