[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Spoqa, a startup providing solutions for small business stores, announced on the 19th that it has newly launched the 'Find Supplier' service within the ingredient cost management app Dodo Cart.
The 'Find Supplier' feature of Dodo Cart is a service that provides various supplier information at once across six categories: agricultural products, livestock products, seafood, beverages and alcoholic drinks, processed foods, and materials and supplies. It was introduced to expand restaurant owners' choices regarding ingredients and reduce cost expenditures.
This feature offers ▲detailed supplier information ▲main transaction items ▲delivery information ▲supplier address ▲Dodo Cart transaction history data, playing an important role in selecting the optimal supplier.
According to Dodo Cart analysis, a survey of suppliers trading with restaurant stores showed that individual wholesalers and ingredient marts each account for about 25%, making up over 50% of the total number of suppliers, with the remainder being general large marts, wholesalers, and wholesale corporations.
Although many existing stores trade with small-scale suppliers, small and medium-sized ingredient companies often do not disclose information, so transactions frequently start through acquaintances.
Spoqa explained that it devised the service connecting stores and ingredient companies to resolve the information imbalance in the ingredient market. Since a pilot operation began in early August focusing on about 20 suppliers in the Seoul area, registrations have been actively made beyond Seoul to suppliers located in the Gyeonggi region.
Choi Jaeseung, CEO of Spoqa, said, "By expanding from ingredient cost management to the Find Supplier function, we expect to broaden restaurant owners' options for fresh ingredient suppliers and achieve efficient cost reduction effects. We plan to further subdivide the service to the district level nationwide soon, securing more supplier information and partnering with local ingredient marts to provide high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices."
Ingredient suppliers wishing to register can apply by accessing the 'Apply for Supplier Partnership' page on the Dodo Cart website.
