This agreement was prepared to listen to on-site voices regarding current issues in the forestry sector, seek win-win development plans with the Forestry Cooperative, and promote garden culture linked to the ‘Greenway Project’ promoted by Pohang City.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲ expanding public gardens close to daily life to restore the city's green ecosystem ▲ developing and operating programs to activate citizen participation in garden culture ▲ operating garden education facilities and systematically training garden experts ▲ and other technical support tasks.

The city plans to lead the transformation of the gray industrial city image into a pleasant urban environment by enhancing citizens' understanding and empathy for forestry and garden culture and the Pohang Greenway Project through various program activities such as the Garden Academy, Women's Forestry Culture University, and Pureumi Volunteer Group promoted by the Forestry Cooperative.

Mayor Kang-deok Lee of Pohang said, “Through mutual cooperation between Pohang City and the Pohang City Forestry Cooperative, we will do our best to make Pohang a city where people want to continue living by creating jobs encompassing urban, rural, and mountain villages and revitalizing the local economy.”
