[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 18th that it will provide loans from the Jeollanam-do Rural Development Fund to increase the income of farmers and fishermen and revitalize the rural economy.
Eligibility for application includes farmers, fishermen, and corporations registered as agricultural and fishery management entities under the age of 70 who have resided in the province for more than one year, as well as representatives of agricultural and marine food businesses.
The application period is from the 21st until December 13th, and applications can be submitted at the town or township office of the applicant's address.
Eligible applicants can apply for loans up to 100 million KRW for individuals and 200 million KRW for agricultural and fishery corporations, with the lowest interest rate of 1%.
The loan funds can be used for facility funds such as purchasing farmland, constructing livestock barns, and building greenhouses (2-year grace period, 5-year equal repayment), as well as operating funds such as purchasing seedlings, seedling trays, seeds, and raw materials (2-year grace period, 3-year equal repayment).
Governor Kim Junsung said, "We hope that the loan support from the Rural Development Fund will strengthen the competitiveness of agriculture and fisheries and help increase farm income," and urged many farmers and fishermen to actively apply.
Meanwhile, so far this year, 26 farms have applied for 2.5 billion KRW from the Rural Development Fund, and currently, 12 farms have completed their projects.
