[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate and Governor of Gyeonggi Province, categorically denied on the 18th the claim that he is the real owner of Hwacheon Daeyu.
At the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office during the National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee's Gyeonggi Province audit, Lee said, "People keep saying that I gave the money, but if I were truly the owner of Hwacheon Daeyu and had the money, I would not give a single penny to someone like Kwak Sang-do's son, who forged a suicide note, even if it meant throwing it to a dog on the street."
He continued, "The clear fact is that the People Power Party (formerly Saenuri Party) blocked public development as the party's official stance," shifting the responsibility for the Daejang-dong development scandal to the Saenuri Party (the predecessor of the People Power Party).
