Gyeongju City Hosts Diverse Performances at the 48th Silla Cultural Festival 'Silla Arts Festival'

12 Teams Compete in the Finals of the Silla Song Festival... Singers Jo Sung-mo, Choo Ga-yeol, and Maria Appointed as Gyeongju Ambassadors

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The 48th Silla Cultural Festival's event, the 'Silla Arts Festival,' has been taking place since the 15th at the Gyeongju Arts Center Hwarang Hall and Wonhwa Hall.

The Silla Arts Festival, held non-face-to-face, is presenting a variety of performances including classical music, theater, Korean traditional music, and a song festival to citizens via real-time YouTube and TV broadcasts.

This event features the 'Celebration Concert Classic Silla' (15th), the Korean traditional music performance 'Cheoyong' (16th), the play 'Into the Millennium Moonlight' (16th and 17th), and the 'Silla Song Festival' (17th).

In particular, the Silla Song Festival is expected to gain popularity as 12 teams, including two teams from the Gyeongju area that advanced through fierce preliminaries among a total of 143 teams, will compete in the finals.

Additionally, through the song festival, lyricist Kang Won-seok, composer Algoboni Honsusangtae, singers Jo Sung-mo, Chuga-yeol, and Maria have been appointed as Gyeongju ambassadors, and songs such as Jo Sung-mo's 'Moonlight Gyeongju' and Maria's 'Millennium Love' set against the backdrop of Gyeongju will be showcased.

Mayor Ju Nak-young of Gyeongju said, "I express my gratitude to Kim Sang-yong, president of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations Gyeongju branch, which organized the Silla Arts Festival, and look forward to various activities of local artists in the future."

Meanwhile, the Silla Song Festival, a competition to showcase talent, will be broadcast on Pohang MBC on the 23rd and 25th without real-time YouTube streaming.
