First Frost in Seoul, First Ice Observed in Daegu and Jeonju
Most of the Country Sees Morning Low Temperatures Below 5°C, Daytime Highs 13~19°C

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Monday morning, the minimum temperature will be chilly, around minus 4 degrees Celsius inland and about 5 degrees Celsius along the coast. The Seoul metropolitan area is expected to have rain from the afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 6 a.m. on that day, the morning minimum temperatures were recorded as follows: Seoul 2.8°C, Suwon 1.8°C, Incheon 4.3°C, Daejeon 1.3°C, Gwangju 3.6°C, Cheonan -1.0°C, Chuncheon -0.3°C, Chungju -1.3°C, Daegu 2.0°C, Busan 7.1°C, Jeju 9.0°C.
Morning temperatures will drop below 5°C inland, below 0°C in central inland areas, eastern Jeonbuk, some inland Gyeongsang regions, and mountainous areas. Daytime temperatures will range from 13 to 19°C, with a temperature difference of more than 15°C, so health precautions are advised.
Due to surface cooling overnight, the first frost was observed in some areas including Seoul, and the first ice was seen in some regions. The first frost in Seoul and Suwon occurred 6 days earlier than last year and 10 days earlier than the average. In Daegu, frost was observed 18 days earlier than last year and 17 days earlier than average; in Daejeon, 12 days earlier than last year and 10 days earlier than average.
Following the early cold wave warning, the first ice of the year was also observed in Daegu and Jeonju. In Jeonju, ice formed 17 days earlier than last year, and in Daegu, 18 days earlier. Compared to the average, ice formed 21 days earlier in Jeonju and 23 days earlier in Daegu.

On Monday, the country will be mostly clear, but due to a pressure trough moving south from the north, rain will begin in Incheon and the western coast of Gyeonggi Province from the afternoon, and in Seoul, inland Gyeonggi, and Gangwon Yeongseo regions from the evening. The western coast of Chungnam will also see raindrops from the afternoon.
On the 19th, the country will be mostly cloudy with rain in the central region and Jeolla area until the morning. Rain will continue until daytime in Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungbuk, and Jeolla areas, and rain will fall from morning to afternoon in Gyeongsang inland areas and Jeju Island. In Gangwon Yeongdong, rain is expected in the afternoon and night due to easterly winds, with rain or snow expected in the Gangwon mountainous areas.
Expected precipitation until the 19th is ▲5-20mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, Chungnam region, western Jeonbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo ▲around 5mm in Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, Jeonnam region, inland Gyeongsang, Jeju Island, and the five western islands.
On the 19th, with the influx of southwesterly winds, morning temperatures will rise 5 to 9 degrees higher than today. Morning lows will be 5 to 12°C, and daytime highs 13 to 20°C. From the 19th, winds will strengthen again, with wind speeds of 10 to 16 m/s and gusts exceeding 20 m/s expected from daytime in the western coasts of Chungnam and Jeolla, and Jeju Island, possibly leading to a strong wind warning.
