[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will support 90% of the industrial accident insurance premiums for special employment workers and artists.
To this end, Seongnam City will accept the second round of applications for industrial accident insurance premium support for special employment workers and artists from the 18th of this month to the 12th of next month.
The eligible applicants are 14 types of special employment workers such as delivery drivers and insurance planners who reside or work in Seongnam City, business owners (with fewer than 10 employees), and local artists.
However, applicants must already be enrolled in industrial accident insurance.
This support covers the industrial accident insurance premiums for the third quarter (July to September).
The city will also accept applications from those who missed the first application period (July 19 to August 13) and retroactively apply the support to the industrial accident insurance premiums for the first, second, and third quarters (January to September).
Applicants can submit the industrial accident insurance premium support application form, consent form for collection, use, and provision of personal information to third parties, and a copy of a bankbook in their name online through the Seongnam City website (banner window).
They can also visit and submit the documents in person at the Employment and Labor Division office on the 7th floor of Seongnam City Hall.
A city official stated, "Industrial accident insurance is a social insurance that compensates for injuries, illnesses, or deaths related to a worker's occupation or duties. Since July 1 of this year, special-type workers have also been mandated to enroll," adding, "We will encourage enrollment in industrial accident insurance to create a safe work environment and strengthen the social safety net."
