According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) on the 17th, the number of people who have completed the recommended number of vaccine doses was counted at 33,166,098 as of midnight that day. This means that 64.6% of last year's Korean population (51,349,116) have completed vaccination. The completion rate based on the population aged 18 and over is 75.1%.
The number of people who completed new vaccinations the previous day was 353,781. Pfizer had the highest number with 237,759, followed by Moderna (104,911), and AstraZeneca (10,336). Although 14,880 people were announced to have completed new AstraZeneca vaccinations, 4,544 of them received their second dose as a cross-vaccination with Pfizer.
Cumulatively, Pfizer leads with 17,775,144 people, followed by AstraZeneca (1,817,946), Moderna (3,104,287), and Janssen (1,468,721).
The number of people who completed their first dose the previous day was 63,954. By vaccine type, Moderna accounted for 52,045, Pfizer 11,000, Janssen 775, and AstraZeneca 134.
As of midnight that day, the remaining vaccine supply in the country totaled 16,129,000 doses. Vaccinations are being conducted only with AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Janssen, and Moderna vaccines. Janssen vaccine requires only one dose, while the others require two doses.
Among adolescents aged 16-17, who began vaccination reservations on the 5th, 55.1% (494,908) of the 898,514 eligible individuals have made reservations. Vaccinations for these adolescents and pregnant women will begin on the 18th.
