Ministry of Education to Hold '2021 Sanhak Cooperation Expo' Until the 24th

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea will hold the '2021 Industry-Academia Cooperation Expo' both online and offline from the 18th to the 24th.

Marking its 14th year, the Industry-Academia Cooperation Expo will be held online from the 18th to the 24th and offline at the Suwon Convention Center from the 20th to the 22nd under the theme "Cooperation that Changes the World, Innovation that Illuminates the Future."

The online performance (event) hall has introduced a user-customized exhibition environment, including the choice between online 3D or 2D formats, enhanced university-specific performance search functions, and operation of a live broadcasting studio for various event broadcasts.

The offline exhibition hall will be organized into six themed halls covering industry-academia cooperation policies, industry-academia education, employment and start-ups and technology commercialization, corporate participation, and more.

During the event, various public lectures and forums by domestic and international experts on topics such as the development direction of industry-academia-research cooperation will be broadcast live.

Competitions for individual creators, drone soccer tournaments, home shopping events selling products from the Social Customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Leading University (LINC+) families and partner companies, and virtual (avatar) career experience programs for middle and high school students and teachers will also be held.

A competition to create a virtual innovation shared university using an extended virtual world program (metaverse platform) will be held for students participating in the Digital New Technology Talent Nurturing Innovation Shared University Project.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye said, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to overcome COVID-19 and prepare for the future society through cooperation among the government, universities, companies, and local communities," adding, "We will actively strive to build an industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem by linking universities' excellent human resources and research capabilities with the industrial sector."
