According to health authorities and the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 16th, a total of 1,173 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. This is 133 fewer than the 1,306 cases recorded at the same time the previous day. It is 21 more than the 1,152 cases reported on the 9th of this month, which was a Hangul Day holiday a week ago.
By region, 905 cases (77.2%) were in the metropolitan area, and 268 cases (22.8%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
