[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] A story has emerged about a citizen who was tormented by the sound of motorcycles until dawn and reported delivery riders violating traffic laws, only to have them come to their doorstep.

On the 15th, an online community, Bobae Dream, posted an article titled "Reported motorcycle delivery riders, now they come to my house."

According to the author, Mr. A, he was troubled by the sound of motorcycles after a delivery-only restaurant opened near his home. The restaurant operates from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m., and many delivery motorcycles come and go daily, Mr. A explained.

Mr. A said, "The restaurant building has no parking lot, and the front is blocked by street trees, so delivery riders park illegally in front of my house." He added, "At first, I woke up to the sound of motorcycles and fought with the delivery riders in front of my house, and even had disputes with the restaurant, which led me to visit the police station."

Meanwhile, Mr. A learned about an application called 'Smart National Report.' He began reporting traffic violations by motorcycles through this app.

He mainly reported offenses such as riding on sidewalks, illegal parking, crossing the center line, not wearing helmets, damaged license plates, illegally modified mufflers, and wrong-way driving. He said, "During last Chuseok, over 100 motorcycles came and went in a day, and I reported about 30 cases that day."

However, Mr. A later found out that his home location had been shared on a delivery community. The post specifically detailed his home address and included a message saying, "Parked on the sidewalk and paid a 50,000 won fine. I admit my fault, but everyone be careful." Mr. A speculated, "It seems they found out through the enforcement photos and address information on the fine notice."

Additionally, Mr. A claimed he experienced actual retaliatory behavior from some delivery riders. He said, "Strange people came and loitered in front of my house, called me, and even filmed my house." He lamented, "At night, motorcycles deliberately rev their engines loudly in front of my house."

Netizens who read this story responded with comments such as, "That must be very stressful," "You don’t know unless you’ve experienced it," "Motorcycle noise is really loud," "Because of some delivery riders, even those who follow the law are being blamed," and "This will be a tough fight. It seems police assistance is needed."
