[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] A post presumed to have been written by Jo Joo-bin, the operator of the Telegram Doctor's Room, has been revealed, sparking controversy.

On the 15th, a photo titled "Jo Joo-bin's 42-Year Sentence Reflection" was uploaded to an online community.

Previously, Jo Joo-bin (26) was sentenced to 42 years in prison on charges including systematically threatening women, including children and adolescents, to produce sexual exploitation materials and selling and distributing them through the Telegram chat room called Doctor's Room.

The reflection, presumed to have been written by Jo Joo-bin, was filled with dissatisfaction toward the judicial system. The author wrote, "The anxiety I have before the appellate court's verdict stems entirely from distrust in the law."

The author also wrote, "If our law were one that could capture the truth without flinching even with a knife to its throat, the emotion formed inside me would have been shame, not anxiety."

He continued, "Unfortunately, our law chose to abandon substantive truth. It was an incompetent three-tiered system that could not even filter out a fictitious charge of being a criminal organization."

He added, "Blind law cannot see reality, is indifferent, and above all, is swayed by the voices of those who know nothing. This is not only about this case but is merely the result of the chronic malpractice of our law that has permeated almost all cases that have drawn social attention."

Furthermore, the author pointed out, "Regardless of the victims, how many people have ground their teeth in front of such trash judgments and lived their lives in resentment? How many wrongful convictions have been produced under the guise of the prosecution, first trial, second trial, and third trial system?"

He wrote, "October 14th, the day of the verdict, is my birthday. I admit my guilt. However, I cannot accept the judgment, this miserable gift."

He claimed, "I committed a crime. Surely, I committed a crime," but added, "However, it is not under the charges imposed by our law. I did not build a criminal organization with anyone."

He added, "No one was raped. This is the unvarnished truth."

The authenticity and source of this reflection have not been confirmed, but online, the prevailing judgment is that it was indeed written by Jo Joo-bin. This is because the handwriting in this reflection is similar to Jo Joo-bin's letter of remorse released in June.

Meanwhile, on the 14th, the Supreme Court upheld the original sentence of 42 years imprisonment for Jo Joo-bin. Jo was indicted on charges of threatening women, including children and adolescents, from May 2019 to February of the following year to produce sexual exploitation materials and selling and distributing them through the Telegram Doctor's Room.
