Jungjingong to Hold 'G-TEP Technology Exchange' Consultation Meeting in the Second Half of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 17th that it will hold the '2021 Second Half G-TEP (Global Technology Exchange Platform) Technology Exchange Consultation & Seminar.'

The event, held for five days from the 18th at the President Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, will be attended by 68 domestic small and medium venture companies including CL Pharm, and over 340 overseas buyers from five countries including China, UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mongolia. SBC plans to operate a help desk composed of technology export experts to mediate negotiations with overseas companies, support problem-solving related to technology exports, and provide customized technology export information to facilitate intensive consultations.

The number of participating companies by country has expanded in the second half compared to the first half. In the first half consultation, 59 domestic companies held consultations with 306 buyers from six countries including Kazakhstan, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, India, and China, resulting in 22 agreements.

A seminar to enhance understanding of technology exports by small and medium ventures will also be held. Starting with the Chinese market and strategies on the 18th, the seminar will cover market entry strategies learned from UAE export failure cases on the 19th, the future of digital healthcare on the 20th, automotive lightweight production technology and carbon neutrality on the 21st, and key legal issues of international license contracts on the 22nd, addressing one topic each day. The seminar will be broadcast live on YouTube, allowing interested companies to participate freely.

Kim Moon-hwan, Head of SBC’s Global Growth Division, said, "Technology exchange is a cross-national collaboration model conducted through licensing, joint ventures, and transfer of production facilities," adding, "I hope that the second half G-TEP technology exchange consultation, held non-face-to-face, will create collaboration opportunities among participating companies and serve as a catalyst for the development of excellent technologies."
