Another COVID-19 Case at the Ministry of National Defense Building Within a Week

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Another COVID-19 case has occurred within a week at the Ministry of National Defense headquarters building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, known as the 'heart of the military,' where Defense Minister Seo Wook's office is located.

According to military officials on the 15th, one employee working on the 6th floor of the Ministry of National Defense headquarters tested positive for COVID-19. The military authorities are currently conducting an epidemiological investigation to identify contacts and trace the movements of the confirmed case.

In an urgent notice sent to employees, the Ministry of National Defense requested, "As the epidemiological investigation is ongoing, please strictly adhere to quarantine rules such as wearing masks until the results are notified," and urged, "All employees working on the 6th floor should remain in their offices until further instructions."

Previously, the first confirmed case in the Ministry of National Defense building occurred a week ago on the 8th. At that time, one employee working on the 1st floor of the building tested positive, and subsequently, one close contact also tested positive for COVID-19.
