[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 15th that it has launched the new winter tire product line "Winter i cept Premium," featuring the "Winter i cept RS3," in the domestic market.

The "Winter i cept RS3" is a tire designed to ensure safety in everyday winter conditions, providing stable handling on snowy roads, wet surfaces, and dry pavements alike.

In particular, the fine grooves engraved along the edges of the main grooves (the deep grooves on the tire surface) increase the contact area, allowing the tire to adhere closely even on snowy curved roads.

To enhance grip on snow, the inverted V-shaped pattern is designed in the opposite direction of the main grooves, delivering stable braking performance on snowy roads.

Compared to previous models, braking performance on snow has improved by approximately 4%. The serrated 3D sipes stabilize the surface blocks, enhancing the tire's grip and braking power.

Additionally, various drainage technologies have been applied to enable safe driving on winter rainy roads. Thin grooves shaped like water pipes and large V-shaped grooves quickly expel moisture entering the main grooves, preventing hydroplaning.

Furthermore, the high-performance silica compound made from natural ingredients provides excellent braking performance on wet surfaces. The company explained that compared to previous models, braking performance on wet roads has been improved and tread life has been extended by about 10%.
