[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Yap Mobile (CEO Kyunghoon Ahn), the developer of location-based IoT smart order 'Yap Order,' is partnering with Jongno District Office to transform about 6,000 small business stores in the Jongno area into smart stores.
On the 14th, Yap Mobile announced that it has decided to first supply ‘Yap Order,’ based on hybrid beacon reception, to 300 small business and self-employed stores mainly in Gwancheol-dong and Ihwa-dong, areas densely populated with cafes and restaurants in Jongno-gu.
Starting with this supply, Yap Mobile plans to aggressively expand the distribution of ‘Yap Order,’ which supports mobile reservation, ordering, and payment functions tailored to the non-face-to-face ordering environment, to over 6,000 stores within Jongno-gu. The production of the ‘Yap Order’ device, the hybrid beacon, will be handled by its parent company YapX.
‘Yap Order’ is a mobile-centered order and payment service that guarantees non-face-to-face interaction. When entering a store and launching the app, the menu of that store automatically appears, allowing contactless ordering and payment on the spot. In particular, it also provides an access authentication service approved by the local government, enabling customers to enjoy dining out immediately without separate waiting times for visit check-in and ordering.
Jongno District Office, ahead of the transition to a quarantine system with phased daily recovery (With Corona), plans to use the electronic entry log method via the Yap Order app as an auxiliary means alongside the existing entry log method to utilize a more precise and efficient entry log management system during epidemiological investigations at cafes and restaurants in the district.
Kyunghoon Ahn, CEO of Yap Mobile, said, “With this cooperation with Jongno District Office, our goal is to install ‘Yap Order’ in about 6,000 stores within Jongno-gu and transform the entire Jongno area into smart stores.” He added, “We will create a social atmosphere so that the Yap Order app, which combines smart order with the COVID-19 entry log method, can be established as one of the electronic entry logs.”
On the 13th, Yap Mobile also held a ‘Yap Order Free Installation Briefing’ for executives of the Gwancheol-dong Merchants’ Association at the Yap Company headquarters located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. This briefing was organized as part of the ‘Small Business Smart Order Free Installation Support Project’ in cooperation with Jongno District Office and Yap Mobile to help merchants understand the system, gather opinions, and promote the successful establishment and spread of smart store infrastructure.
