Online Mall Review Count Approaches 10 Million on the 14th
Monthly Average Reviews This Year Reach 360,000...Large-Scale Campaign Launches from the 15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] CJ Olive Young announced on the 14th that the cumulative number of reviews on its official online mall is about to surpass 10 million. As of 8 a.m. that day, the count stood at 9.99 million.
Olive Young secured 10 million reviews in just 1 year and 10 months since introducing the 'Online-Offline Integrated Review Service' in January last year, which allows customers to leave feedback on products purchased both offline and online.
From January to September this year, the monthly average number of reviews reached 360,000. This represents a 759% increase compared to the same period in 2019 before the integrated review service was introduced.
Analysis of the approximately 10 million accumulated reviews as of the 13th showed that the category with the most reviews was basic cosmetics (about 3.9 million), and the product with the highest number of reviews was the 'Care Plus Wound Cover Spot Patch' (about 78,000 reviews).
Olive Young stated, "We enhanced expertise by subdividing the components of product reviews," adding, "We created a space where customers in their 20s and 30s, passionate about cosmetics, can share and communicate product feedback, achieving positive results." They explained that since reviews greatly influence purchasing decisions for cosmetics, they ensured customers could trust reviews and receive helpful information for their purchases.
On Olive Young’s online mall, customers can check satisfaction levels based on product attributes such as star ratings, usage reviews, skin type, skin concerns, scent, color payoff, and longevity. Users can set their own skin type from seven categories, skin tone, and concerns like blemishes, wrinkles, and dead skin cells to find reviews that suit them.
Following the introduction of the 'Review Blind System' last year to filter inappropriate reviews, Olive Young continues to advance its services by improving the user interface (UI) for writing reviews, enabling customers to access credible product information.
This year, benefits for top reviewers, called 'Top Reviewers,' have been significantly enhanced. Every week, the top 1,000 reviewers are selected and publicly announced, receiving exceptional discount coupons, double CJ ONE points, and opportunities to join the Olive Young Experience Group.
Meanwhile, ahead of reaching 10 million reviews, Olive Young released a teaser video and is running the 'Join Us, 10 Million Countdown' promotion on its official online mall until the 14th. The event offers prizes worth 10 million KRW, including luxury wallets, Bluetooth speakers, and Olive Young gift cards. Starting from the 15th, they will launch online and offline campaigns and promotions, giving away prizes worth 100 million KRW.
