Since the launch of direct driver insurance in 2010, the number of subscribers exceeded 100,000 in 2016 and reached 200,000 in 2019. In particular, the number of customers subscribing in the past year increased by 23.0%, indicating growing popularity.
Driver insurance is a product that provides coverage for death caused by injury and various costs and damages related to automobile accidents. It covers driver fines, traffic accident handling support funds, attorney fees, and more.
In September, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance expanded the coverage amount and scope of the special contract for attorney fees related to automobile cases. Even if the insured is summarily indicted by a prosecutor but appeals the summary order result and requests a formal trial, coverage is now provided.
According to a consumer survey conducted by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance targeting 3,018 direct driver insurance customers, 95.8% (2,892 people) responded that they were satisfied or very satisfied.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance official said, "We would like to express our gratitude to the many customers who have loved the direct driver insurance," adding, "We hope that customers will also seek out other products, including driver insurance."
