"Stop Pretending to Be Nice"... Song Seung-ha's Sharp Performance in 'Wonder Woman' Leaves an Impression

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Song Seungha is adding more appeal to 'One the Woman' with her charmingly sharp-tongued character.

Song Seungha plays Han Seongmi, the youngest daughter of the Hanju Group, in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'One the Woman.' She constantly utters blunt remarks as if her brain is bypassed, capturing viewers' attention.

Han Seongmi is the younger sister-in-law of Kang Mina (played by Lee Hanee) and a key figure in the ruthless Hanju family’s in-law world. She is an unpredictable time bomb whose targets for biting remarks include her elder sister-in-law Heo Jaehee (Jo Yeonhee), her brother Han Seongun (Song Wonseok), and her sister Han Seonghye (Jin Seoyeon). Here, we have gathered Han Seongmi’s indiscriminate blunt remarks from 'One the Woman' up to episode 8, leaving a distinctive impression.

"The elder sister-in-law’s life is easy? Her husband’s already in the afterlife."

Han Seongmi’s first appearance began with a dagger-like remark aimed at Heo Jaehee. While mocking her brother Han Seongun’s embarrassing 'affair rumors,' she unhesitatingly mentioned her late eldest brother to the nearby elder sister-in-law Heo Jaehee, delivering an untouchable blunt remark. The elder sister-in-law, whose position in the Hanju Group family is ambiguous, is always one of Han Seongmi’s main targets.

When Jo Yeonju (played by Lee Hanee), pretending to be the younger sister-in-law Kang Mina, suddenly rose to power as the official chairwoman of Yumin Group, and as a result Heo Jaehee took on all the household chores, Han Seongmi gleefully poured fuel on the fire, saying, "The hierarchy keeps changing every moment. You should have tried to get on the younger sister-in-law’s good side all this time."

"The day I got hit by a car, I told the sister-in-law to bring my shoes."

The core incident in 'One the Woman' was Jo Yeonju’s department store traffic accident. On the day of the accident, Han Seongmi instructed Kang Mina to bring her personal shoes, telling her to earn her keep. Even after Jo Yeonju lost her memory and inadvertently entered the Hanju Group, Han Seongmi immediately ordered her to run errands for department store shoes, maintaining her consistent role as the ‘annoying sister-in-law.’

Moreover, upon seeing the photo in the article about Jo Yeonju that sparked considerable controversy online, she said, "Sister-in-law, where did you get your eyebrow tattoo? It was taken from afar with no makeup, but it came out very clearly," solidifying her position as a uniquely blunt character who speaks without filtering her thoughts, following the flow of events like a broken brake.

"The younger sister-in-law’s weakness is that she married my brother."

Even her blood relative Han Seongun is not spared from Han Seongmi’s disregard. She regularly reads aloud the 'affair rumors' with genuine laughter, and when Han Seongun scolds her for not going to work and playing golf, she openly mocks his incompetence, saying, "You should work harder and go to the office less. Then the company would do much better."

Not only that, when Jo Yeonju becomes the chairwoman of Yumin Group, Han Seongmi cruelly makes Han Seongun realize his pitiful reality by saying, "Why are you worried about being checked by your brother? At least the younger sister-in-law’s weakness is that she married you," delivering a harsh 'fact punch.'

"Stop pretending to be nice. The worst one is the sister."

Han Seonghye, the eldest daughter of Hanju Group and the biggest villain in the drama, is not free from Han Seongmi’s blunt remarks. She criticized Han Seonghye, who consistently feigned ignorance about the Yumin shareholders’ meeting, by saying, "Stop pretending to be nice. You’re the worst, sister!" bringing up the times she had bullied Kang Mina.

Han Seongmi subtly proposed a 'sisterly alliance' to climb onto Han Seonghye’s influential line within Hanju Group, but when Han Seonghye flatly rejected it, Han Seongmi’s expression changed, revealing strong hostility. This scene reminded viewers that even family members tied by blood in the Hanju Group can turn into enemies at any time, adding intrigue to the plot.

Song Seungha said, "Han Seongmi, the youngest daughter of a chaebol family, mostly speaks in blunt remarks. I thoroughly prepared the character to give off a mean vibe through her tone and eyes so that viewers would get even more angry while watching." She added, "I hope viewers will feel vicarious satisfaction through the 'refreshing developments' where the Hanju Group people get their comeuppance later on," expressing her anticipation for future developments.
