"All Body Hair Could Fall Out" Urging Recognition of Causality

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Claims have emerged again that hair loss occurred after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Previously, a man in his 50s claimed to have experienced hair loss symptoms after receiving the Moderna vaccine, which is also an mRNA (messenger RNA) type like Pfizer.
On the 8th, a post titled "Pfizer Hair Loss Side Effect" was uploaded on the Blue House National Petition Board. The author, Mr. A, stated, "I received the first dose of Pfizer on August 4th, and a week later, hives appeared on both sides of my neck along with circular hair loss the size of two 500-won coins on the right back of my head."
Mr. A, who visited a dermatology clinic on the 10th day after the first vaccination to receive a scalp injection, explained, "When I told the doctor that I had severe hives and circular hair loss after the vaccine, he said the neck was seborrheic dermatitis and the scalp was stress-induced alopecia areata."
He continued, "But I have no allergies on my body. Since this was my first experience with hair loss, the doctor recommended a thyroid test," adding, "Because the affected area was large, I received 28 mixed injections, and a week later, I got 38 more, but my hair kept falling out, and I thought I was going crazy."

Mr. A later said, "On September 8th, when I went to get the second Pfizer vaccine, my hair was falling out so much it was clogging the drain," and “After the second dose, I found my hair was broken and pulled out. Ultrasound and blood test results were normal. On the 6th, the hospital diagnosed me with alopecia areata, drug side effects, and an autoimmune disease.”
Sharing a link to a website with photos of his scalp condition, Mr. A said, "Now, most of my hair has fallen out, and less than one-fifth remains. Please visit the link and see my photos," adding, "I feel really depressed every day. The hospital said I might lose all the hair on my body. I have spent over 1 million won on hospital bills and other expenses in one month."
Earlier, on the 7th, a petition was posted by a man in his 50s who experienced severe hair loss symptoms after receiving the Moderna vaccine. He stated, "I understand that the whole world has no choice but to get vaccinated due to COVID-19, but in the atmosphere where vaccination is mandatory, the government should respond quickly to cases involving serious aftereffects or disabilities."
