[Agyeong Poll] Yeo Presidential Candidate Suitability, Yoon Seok-yeol Regains Lead

[Agyeong Poll] Yeo Presidential Candidate Suitability, Yoon Seok-yeol Regains Lead

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol has once again risen to first place within the margin of error as the most suitable conservative opposition presidential candidate.

According to a public opinion poll conducted by Asia Economy through Win-Gi Korea Consulting from the 9th to 10th, surveying 1,023 voters nationwide aged 18 and over (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response), former Prosecutor General Yoon recorded 29.0%.

People Power Party lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo fell 5.4 percentage points from the previous survey to 28.1%. Following him were former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min at 13.2%, former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong at 3.9%, and People’s Party leader Ahn Cheol-soo at 3.0%.

Among People Power Party supporters, former Prosecutor General Yoon received nearly half of the support at 49.6%, with lawmaker Hong next at 36.2%. The gap between the two candidates narrowed by 13.5 percentage points compared to the previous survey, seemingly influenced by controversies over shamanism involving Yoon’s camp, such as the "Wang (王)" character and Cheongong.

Meanwhile, as the number of candidates within the People Power Party was narrowed down to four following the second cut-off, the undecided voter group increased by 4.3 percentage points compared to the fourth week of September.

The response rate for this survey was 7.1%, and the sample was extracted with weighted values by gender, age, and region based on the resident registration population data from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of the end of January. The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For detailed survey information, refer to the Win-Gi Korea Consulting website or the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
