[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] A makeup artist revealed a story about not receiving proper payment for makeup services from a certain announcer.

A, who works as a makeup artist in Busan and Changwon, Gyeongnam, posted a message titled "Am I a pushover?" on an online community on the 8th.

A claimed, "I did makeup and hair several times for announcer B, who works at a local broadcasting station, under the pretext of participating in the Miss Korea pageant, but I did not receive any payment, nor did I get back four outfits."

According to A, he was contacted by B in August to prepare for the Miss Korea pageant and scheduled makeup and hair appointments.

A said, "I drove over 300 km from home and did makeup several times until dawn, and I lent four outfits and makeup tools free of charge."

However, B delayed payment for more than a month and even asked for a discount.

In response, A explained, "I offered to discount the fee as much as possible and accept 1 million won in cash, but the payment was not properly made."

A added, "Announcer B said she did not make it into the final six in the Miss Korea preliminaries and that her 'mental state was broken,' promising to contact me when she felt better, but then she cut off contact."

Afterward, A cautiously sent text messages requesting payment from B, who had delayed payment for over a month, but only received replies expressing displeasure. B also informed A that she would pay the fee in installments over three months.

A expressed anger, saying, "It was so absurd. If the payment was delayed, the basic thing would be to apologize first and ask for understanding."

A also shared text messages exchanged with B along with the post.

As criticism from netizens grew after this story became known, announcer B paid the outstanding fees to A through her mother on the 9th. However, during this process, A received a text message from B's mother saying, "You have ruined my daughter's life."

Regarding this, A said, "Even after delaying payment for more than a month, instead of a proper apology, I received texts blaming or threatening me," adding, "I hope no other makeup artists go through the same experience as I did."
