Hyundai Motor and Kia Sweep 'Car of the Year' Awards Selected by UK Specialty Magazine

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor and Kia swept seven categories at the '2022 Car of the Year' awards hosted by the UK automotive media 'Carbuyer.'

According to industry sources on the 11th, Hyundai Motor's three models?the Tucson Hybrid, Ioniq 5, and i20 N?were selected as the best new cars in six out of the 20 award categories, making Hyundai the brand with the most awards.

Kia was named in one category with the Sorento Hybrid 7-seater model winning 'Best Large Family Car.'

The Tucson Hybrid model received excellent evaluations in design, driving feel, and interior space, winning three categories including 2022 Car of the Year, 'Best Family Car,' and 'Best Hybrid Car.'

Hyundai's first dedicated electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5, was simultaneously selected as 'Best Corporate Vehicle' and 'Best Family Electric Car.' The i20 N, a representative model of the high-performance N brand, won the 'Best Hatchback' category.
