[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The People Power Party has been continuously criticizing Lee Jae-myung, the governor of Gyeonggi Province, who was elected as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

On the 11th, Yoon Seok-yeol, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party and former Prosecutor General, wrote on his Facebook, "Former leader Lee Nak-yeon received 62.37% in the third electoral college vote, far surpassing Governor Lee Jae-myung, who received 28.3%," adding, "Many see this as a reflection of public sentiment regarding the Daejang-dong gate."

Yoon continued, "Even though figures under investigation are pointing to candidate Lee Jae-myung as the mastermind behind the crimes, they are trying to cover it up as the 'People Power Party gate.' Would even Democratic Party supporters easily accept this?" He criticized, "Lee Jae-myung's way of handling this is a Goebbels-style mass brainwashing propaganda, where 'if you keep lying, it becomes the truth.'"

He stated, "There can be no leniency toward the main criminals of the Daejang-dong gate who plundered the people's property by mobilizing state authority," and urged the prosecution to conduct a swift investigation.

Im Seung-ho, spokesperson for the People Power Party, also released a statement that day, saying, "The number of votes for candidate Lee Jae-myung, which did not even reach half of candidate Lee Nak-yeon's votes, is evidence that the public already perceives the Daejang-dong incident as the 'Lee Jae-myung gate,'" and criticized, "Nevertheless, candidate Lee Jae-myung is blaming his low vote count immediately after his election on 'fake news and opposition party agitation.'"

Spokesperson Im said, "The final primary results of the Democratic Party are the public's last warning to stop Lee Jae-myung-style 'Asura politics,'" and demanded, "He should promptly accept a special prosecutor and show at least some decency before the people."
