[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Seoul City announced that the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted as 571 from 0:00 to 9:00 PM on the 9th. This is 134 fewer than the previous day (8th) with 705 cases, and 137 fewer than a week ago (2nd) with 708 cases.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul surged starting from the 23rd of last month, right after the Chuseok holiday, reaching a record high of 1,222 on the 24th, then continuously decreasing for six days from the 29th to the 4th of this month, down to 521 cases. After the Gaecheonjeol holiday ended, the number increased to 836 on the 6th, then decreased again on the 7th and 8th.
As of 9:00 PM on the 9th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 107,612.
