‘Abundance’ and ‘Pregnancy’ October 10 Pregnant Women’s Day Commemoration Event Held in Ulsan on the 9th Ulsan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Do you know about Pregnant Women’s Day? Ulsan City will hold the ‘2021 Pregnant Women and Multi-Child Family Happy Festival’ both online and offline at 2 p.m. on the 9th at the Taekwang Industrial Gymnasium.

This event was prepared to commemorate October 10th, ‘Pregnant Women’s Day.’ This day was designated as a legal memorial day in 2005 under the Maternal and Child Health Act, symbolizing the abundance and harvest of October and the 10 months of pregnancy.

The event is held with the purpose of socially supporting pregnancy and childbirth and addressing the difficulties of childbirth and parenting. Part 1 includes a pre-ceremony event and a commemorative ceremony, and Part 2 consists of cultural performances and experiences.

The pre-ceremony event features a performance by the crossover gugak (traditional Korean music) ensemble ‘Arian,’ and during the commemorative ceremony, awards will be given to meritorious persons of Pregnant Women’s Day and to families with the most children among the participants.

In Part 2, there will be sand art, juggling performances, family garden making, Pilates experiences, and family talent shows.

Mayor Song Cheol-ho said, “The family is the smallest social unit living together, and when its members are struggling, it becomes a source of comfort and strength, as well as a fundamental pillar of a healthy society. Through more detailed consideration and policies, we will create ‘Ulsan, a good place to have and raise children.’”

Ulsan City is promoting various policies to support multi-child families, including issuing the NEW Ulsan Multi-Child Love Card, reducing water and sewage fees for families with three or more children, and reducing fees for using public facilities.
