[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced on the 8th that it will conduct a "Special Crackdown on Illegal Activities in Forests during Autumn" to prevent indiscriminate harvesting of forest products as the season for harvesting forest products and hiking begins in earnest.

The county has formed a special crackdown team consisting of forest special judicial police officers and forest pest monitoring and control teams.

To prevent damage to forestry producers, they plan to intensively crack down on the digging and harvesting of forest products until the 31st of this month.

The main targets of the crackdown are illegal digging and harvesting of pine mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms, etc., without the consent of the forest owner, and measures will be taken in accordance with the Act on the Creation and Management of Forest Resources if caught.

The county plans to actively promote awareness of forest protection by installing banners prohibiting illegal harvesting of forest products and distributing educational leaflets, and will strengthen surveillance of vehicles parked along forest roads and in areas with relatively easy vehicle access such as natural recreation forests.

Kim Sun-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, said, "We will actively promote and continuously crack down to prevent damage to forestry producers caused by illegal harvesting of forest products," and added, "We will do our best to protect the forest resources of Gurye-gun."
