According to this agreement, both organizations will cooperate in providing medical support such as treatment costs for low-income patients from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions who visit Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, patients in medical blind spots, and social work for families of fully recovered patients.
In particular, the Donation Angels Association has agreed to donate 10 million KRW annually as development support funds to Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital for this purpose.
The Donation Angels Association is a volunteer organization in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions consisting of about 2,000 members, including young CEOs and individuals committed to social service.
They support medical expenses and emergency living expenses for neighbors in need, provide scholarships for youth, and have maintained volunteer activities such as pediatric cancer recovery events and support for Children's Day and Christmas since establishing ties with Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital in 2018.
Kim Jeongju, the representative of the Donation Angels Association, said, "Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital is the region's leading medical institution treating severe patients," and added, "We will strive to ensure that economically disadvantaged patients can receive medical support more easily and stably."
Shin Myeonggeun, director of Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, stated, "The Donation Angels Association is a volunteer organization that originated in Gwangju and Jeonnam and is a valuable asset to the region," and expressed, "We are pleased to sign an agreement with an organization that helps patients in need."
