Lotte Hi-Mart Opens Used Goods Trading Platform 'Heart Market'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 5th that it will open a secondhand trading platform called 'Heart Market' on its online shopping mall.


Heart Market is basically a space where users can freely trade between individuals, and there is no usage fee. When a buyer deposits the transaction amount to Heart Market, a safe payment service is provided that transfers the payment to the seller after confirming receipt of the product. However, the safe payment service requires the buyer to pay a 3.5% commission on the transaction amount.


For customers using the safe payment service, the Heart Table service is supported, allowing them to exchange traded items at over 430 Lotte Hi-Mart stores nationwide. Using this service minimizes the exposure of personal information such as home addresses and enables transactions in a safe space, providing peace of mind.


Heart Box service, which allows users to leave and pick up traded items at nearby Lotte Hi-Mart stores without face-to-face transactions, and Heart Installation, where Lotte Hi-Mart experts assist with direct installation, are also supported. Heart Installation, which can only be used if the seller and buyer are in the same Lotte Hi-Mart logistics center area, is useful for trading large home appliances that are difficult to deliver directly, such as kimchi refrigerators, washing machines, and TVs.


Lotte Hi-Mart also operates Heart Products, which sells display items from stores. When display items are listed at stores nationwide, users can coordinate with the store via chat to set a date and visit in person to complete the transaction.


A Lotte Hi-Mart official said, “If the secondhand trading platform Heart Market becomes active, not only will the number of visitors to the Lotte Hi-Mart online shopping mall increase, but the number of users safely trading at stores nationwide will also increase, ultimately generating a customer attraction effect.”
