Plan to Export 550 Tons to the US This Year... Expected Income of 1.5 Billion KRW

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Sinan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) made the first shipment for the export of 2021 Sinan pears, which grew in clean area germanium soil and were exposed to sea breeze, known for their excellent taste and quality, at Sinan Pear Farming Cooperative Corporation on the 30th.
The initial shipment for export was 13 tons, and it is planned to export 550 tons worth approximately 1.5 billion KRW in the future.
The high-quality premium Sinan pears have been exported to Los Angeles and California, USA since 1999, capturing the taste of people worldwide, exporting 200 to 600 tons annually, playing a significant role as a breadwinner for pear-producing farms.
This year, Sinan County enhanced its external image and secured competitiveness in overseas markets by thoroughly sorting and supporting pear blemish prevention facilities with a state-of-the-art management system to reduce damage caused by pear blemishes, a strategic export item.
Governor Park Woo-ryang of Sinan County stated, “To continue the reputation of the highest quality Sinan pears, we will continuously support pear farming households with pollen, bags, SS machines, insurance premiums, and more.”
