"More Effective with Buchangbusu (夫唱婦隨)"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, sarcastically said, "The wife should also write the character Bi (妃, queen) on her palm," regarding the controversy over the character 'Wang (王)' on the palm of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate and former Prosecutor General.
On the 4th, Jeong posted on Facebook, "If you are worried that the 'Wang' character on your palm might fade, I have a good method to advise," and said this.
He mocked, "Write the character Wang on your palm and stick flesh-colored transparent tape over it. There are many products on the market that are perfectly invisible. It doesn't show at all. Since you've already done it, have your wife write the character Bi (妃) on her palm and stick the same flesh-colored transparent tape. It seems it would be more effective as a couple's harmony (夫唱婦隨) double effort."
Regarding Yoon's side explaining the controversy by saying, "It seems the character (Wang) did not fade because we mainly washed the fingers," Jeong said, "Do you carefully wash only your fingers? There is such a good method," and added, "Superstition is fine, but please also use scientific methods. Flesh-colored transparent tape is the best."
Earlier, on the 1st, during the 5th TV debate among the People Power Party's presidential primary candidates, the character Wang written on Yoon's palm was spotted. When the ruling party launched a fierce attack, suggesting it might have a shamanistic meaning, Yoon explained in a phone call with Yonhap News on the 3rd, "A supporter wrote it to encourage me to debate confidently with the vigor of a king."
He added, "The idea that the palm writing is related to the king, president, regime change, or has shamanistic meaning is a groundless speculation. If it had a shamanistic meaning, I would have hidden it by making a talisman or something. Would I have written it right in the middle of my palm for everyone to see?"
