Daegu Autonomous Police Committee Holds First 'Our Neighborhood Patrol Talk' Activity in Gosan-dong, Suseong-gu

The patrol team, consisting of about 30 members including police officials, district council members, and autonomous crime prevention volunteers, patrolled crime-prone areas around Gosan-dong, Suseong-gu on the night of September 30.

The 'Our Neighborhood Patrol Talk' event was planned to both address the curiosity of autonomous crime prevention volunteers, who are usually very interested in the autonomous police system, and simultaneously carry out crime prevention patrols, achieving two effects at once.

Park Donggyun, Standing Commissioner (Secretary General) of the Daegu Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee, emphasized, "The autonomous police system is a harmonious combination of resident self-governance administration and police administration, with the most important goal being crime prevention and citizen safety. Various cooperative policing activities such as CPTED and joint patrols are important, and above all, active participation and interest from citizens are crucial."

Meanwhile, the Gosan 3-dong Autonomous Crime Prevention Volunteer Group in Suseong-gu has been conducting crime prevention activities for local residents since 2002. It was selected as the No. 1 Best Autonomous Crime Prevention Volunteer Group in Daegu in 2019.
