What Are the Contributions of Elder Yoon Bok-rye, Awarded the Seongbuk-gu Model Senior Citizen Commendation?

Seongbuk-gu '25th Senior Citizens' Day' Commemorative Awards Ceremony for Model Seniors and Meritorious Persons

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) commemorated the ‘25th Senior Citizens' Day’ by awarding commendations to exemplary senior citizens and meritorious individuals.

The award ceremony held on October 1 was replaced with a tea meeting instead of an event to encourage participation in social distancing.

Senior citizen Yoon Bok-rye, who received the exemplary senior citizen award, has been devotedly working in the Gireum Welfare Center’s market-type job project since 2016, recognized for contributing to the stabilization and development of the project. Mr. Noh Hyun-tae, a recipient of the senior welfare contributor award, has greatly contributed to senior welfare by serving seniors with a strong sense of duty from the opening of the Samseon Silver Welfare Center to the present.

In addition, a total of 22 people, including 14 exemplary senior citizens who contributed to the development of the district through sacrifice and volunteer spirit, and 8 senior welfare contributors who set an example with their strong sense of duty, received the honor of awards from the district mayor and the Seoul mayor.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, praised the contributions of the exemplary seniors and meritorious individuals, saying, “The exemplary seniors here represent the role and potential of the elderly in the welfare sector,” and added, “A city where seniors live well is a city where all members live well, so we will do our best to implement more diverse and detailed senior policies.”
