[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Ha Tae-kyung, a presidential pre-candidate from the People Power Party, criticized former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation acting president Yoo Dong-gyu for throwing his cellphone out the window just before a search and seizure at his home on the 29th, saying, "This is truly befitting of candidate Lee Jae-myung's closest aide."

On the 30th, Ha posted on his Facebook, "Yoo Dong-gyu, a key figure in the Daejang-dong case, reportedly destroyed his cellphone to avoid the prosecution's search and seizure," adding, "In 2016, candidate Lee caused controversy during a lecture by absurdly saying, 'If you mess up, don't let them take your cellphone. It contains all your life records.' Did he instruct Yoo Dong-gyu to discard his phone this time as well?"

He continued, "Candidate Lee is currently making a barrage of nonsensical statements to evade responsibility under flimsy excuses. It's typical for a scared dog to bark loudly," and pointed out, "The reason Lee Jae-myung refuses a special prosecutor is simple. If a permanent special prosecutor is appointed by bipartisan agreement, the truth of the Asura before the presidential election will be revealed." He added, "He is just barking noisily like a tavern dog to prevent this."

Ha also said, "Candidate Lee is spouting nonsense, claiming, 'If it weren't for me, the private business forces colluding with the People Power Party would have taken 100% of the Daejang-dong development profits.' This is a mirror image of the imperialist Japanese nonsense that 'If it weren't for Japan, all of Asia would have been taken by Western barbarians,'" emphasizing, "If candidate Lee is so confident, he should stop acting like a coward and immediately accept the special prosecutor."

Earlier, it was reported that on the morning of the 29th, when investigators from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's special investigation team for the Daejang-dong development suspicion case (led by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Kim Tae-hoon) rang the doorbell at Yoo's house, he opened the door only after about 20 minutes. During the time the investigators waited outside unable to enter, Yoo threw his cellphone out the window, and although the prosecutors later searched the nearby road, they were unable to find it.
