[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The 21st Bucheon Book Festival, a representative book festival of Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, will be held throughout October.
The festival's main program, the Book Concert, will take place on the 2nd from 11 a.m., featuring Yojo, author Jang Kangmyeong, and the singing band Seoyul. It will be broadcast live on the Bucheon City Library YouTube channel under the theme "Still Books."
Yojo, a singer and author of "A Profession That Loves Failure" and "Anyway, Tteokbokki," and Jang Kangmyeong, author of "Books, What Are They?" and "Bleach," will share stories about how books provided comfort during the exhausting times of COVID-19.
In addition, there will be a joyful communication space with the audience, including a song performance by Seoyul Band themed "Comfort," curious questions about the authors and books, books or sentences that provided comfort during hard times, books recommended by the authors for comfort, and composing two-line or three-line acrostic poems using the authors' names.
Lee Jaehee, director of Sangdong Library, said, "I hope this Book Concert, where citizens still going through difficult times due to COVID-19 can find comfort and empathy through books, will be a moment to find some relaxation."
