[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver Clova's artificial intelligence (AI) products have won awards at the United States 'IDEA 2021 Design Awards,' one of the world's top three design awards.
Naver announced on the 29th that Clova Lamp received the highest honor, the Gold Award, and Clova FaceSign was selected for the main prize.
Clova Lamp, introduced by Naver in October last year as an 'AI lamp that reads books aloud,' integrates advanced AI technologies such as character recognition, image recognition, speech synthesis, speech recognition, and natural language processing into children's reading experiences to help form reading habits. It won the Gold Award for its high aesthetic value, including colors that blend with the surrounding environment and a curved design.
With this IDEA award, Clova Lamp has achieved the honor of winning awards from all four major global design awards, including the German Red Dot Design Award, the German iF Design Award, and the Japanese Good Design Award.
Clova FaceSign is a product that combines facial recognition devices and thermal imaging cameras. Based on facial recognition technology, it can provide various convenient functions such as access control, payment, and fever checks. Naver first introduced this technology at the 2019 DEVIEW event. It is also planned to be applied to the access system of Naver's second headquarters. FaceSign received the main prize at the IDEA Awards for its sleek and clean device design tailored to usability and its user interface (UI) design.
