Gyeonggi-do Prioritizes Supplying Gyeonggi-do Fruits for Home-Care Children 'Fruit Packages'


[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will prioritize supplying locally produced fruits to children in home care.


On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it signed a non-face-to-face business agreement with five package suppliers, including the Nonghyup Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, and four producer organizations, including the Gyeonggi-do Apple Research Association.


At the signing ceremony, Vice Governor Lee Yong-cheol of Gyeonggi Province, Jung Yong-wang, head of Nonghyup Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, Kim Young-hyang, representative of Dure Consumer Cooperative Federation, Cho Wan-seok, representative of Hansalim Business Federation Co., Ltd., Ahn In-sook, representative of Happiness Centered Consumer Cooperative Federation, Kim Beom-jin, chairman of Damyang Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, Myung In-bok, president of Gyeonggi-do Apple Research Association, Hong Sang-ui, chairman of Anseong Horticultural Nonghyup, Shin Hyun-sung, chairman of Pyeongtaek Horticultural Nonghyup, and Lee Jeong-gyeong, representative of Benong Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, attended via video.


According to the agreement, the province will strive to stabilize the supply and promotion of Gyeonggi Province-produced fruits to ensure safe and excellent fruits are supplied steadily.


Package suppliers such as Nonghyup Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, Dure Consumer Cooperative Federation, Hansalim Business Federation Co., Ltd., Happiness Centered Consumer Cooperative Federation, and Damyang Nonghyup Hanaro Mart will closely cooperate with producer organizations such as the Gyeonggi-do Apple Research Association, Anseong Horticultural Nonghyup, Pyeongtaek Horticultural Nonghyup, and Benong Agricultural Cooperative Corporation to expand the supply of Gyeonggi Province-produced fruits and manage the stable supply project.


Producer organizations will manage the production and quality of farms participating in the supply project and cooperate with package suppliers to provide high-quality Gyeonggi Province-produced fruits.


Lee Yong-cheol, the first vice governor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "This agreement is to supply safe and high-quality Gyeonggi Province-produced fruit packages to children in home care," adding, "We will actively work with the signatory organizations to supply high-quality Gyeonggi Province-produced fruit packages and secure sales channels for fruit-producing farms."


Meanwhile, since last year, the province has expanded the target of healthy fruit support to children in home care to guarantee the basic right to food without discrimination for children attending childcare facilities such as daycare centers, resulting in approximately 170,000 additional children receiving support.
