[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (HOCI) conducted a search and seizure of the office used by Son Junsung, former Policy Officer of the Investigation Information Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, in connection with the allegations of 'prosecution indictment solicitation' involving former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.

According to the legal community on the 28th, the HOCI's Investigation Division 3 (Chief Prosecutor Choi Seok-gyu) executed a search warrant at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Investigation Information Division this morning by dispatching prosecutors and investigators. The Investigation Information Division is a downsized and reorganized department following the prosecution's policy to reduce direct investigations. It was also the office where Prosecutor Son worked when the indictment related to the solicitation was exchanged.

Earlier, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Inspection Department, which is conducting a fact-finding investigation, secured PCs used by Prosecutor Son in the office to identify traces of indictment preparation. On the 10th, HOCI seized his mobile phone and other items during a search of his residence and current workplace at Daegu High Prosecutors' Office. It appears that HOCI aimed to obtain additional clues through the search and seizure at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office today.
