Park Seong-il, Wanju County Governor, Proposes '2+3 Issues' to National Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Lee Jong-bae

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Park Seong-il, the governor of Wanju County, requested Lee Jong-bae, chairman of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee and a member of the People Power Party accompanying the Honam region, to support the so-called ‘2+3 agenda’ including reflection in the presidential election pledges and national budget support for next year.

On the 28th, Lee Jong-bae, chairman of the Budget and Accounts Committee and a member of the People Power Party, and Jeong Un-cheon, chairman of the National Integration Committee, visited Wanju County. Governor Park Seong-il asked them to include two major issues?the establishment of a hydrogen-specialized national industrial complex and the creation of the Mahan Historical and Cultural Belt in the Mangyeong River basin?in the People Power Party’s 20th presidential election pledges.

He also urged the inclusion of three major issues in next year’s national budget to ensure smooth progress: the establishment of the National Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) Research Institute, the construction of the National Social Economy Talent Development Institute, and facility improvements on Local Road No. 55 between Soyang and Dongsang.

Governor Park’s proposal of two major projects for the presidential pledges and three major projects for next year’s national budget, the so-called ‘2+3 agenda request,’ is interpreted as a move to strengthen the driving force for key issues to realize Wanju as Korea’s number one hydrogen city and a self-sufficient city with high income and quality of life.
